Twice as Loud, Half as Talented

Slick as ice, smooth as silk and as creamy as warm butter, it's Butterfingers Jarosz on guitar.

Hailing from the hard-scrabble streets of Chicago's Southside, Butterfingers grew up tough.  Now we're not going to say how tough, but one family story has his mom yelling out across the neighborhood, "Al there'll be no desert for you tonight if you and your friends don't quit robbing those liquor stores down on Cicero."

After graduating from 3rd grade, Butterfingers started hanging out in those dimly lit southside dives.  Sharing the stage with the likes of Joilet Slim, Alvin Alsup and Muddy Wasnewski, young all worked on his chops and perfected his powerful right cross.  Appartently in those days, a battle of the bands meant a hospital visit.

After meeting Jake Legg in the back alley of a Eastside brewery, Butterfingers joined the mix.

Hillbilly's No Relation to Jake

A star is born.  Talent agents from accross the heartland of America have commented on the need for Jake's new band find a better marketable name.  But it was the attorneys and business manager who finally drove the decision.  As strange as it may seem several other bands have capitolized on Jake's name.  All with out poor Mr. Legg being aware of the situation.

For instance there is the St. Lewy based Jakes' Leg, a Grateful Dead cover band with this website..  http://www.jakesleg.com/

Out in Hillbilly Country, there is the Jake Leg Stompers, a Tennessee jug band with at least a couple of songs on Reverb Nation.  http://www.reverbnation.com/jakelegstompers
AND ANOTHER HILLBILLY VERSION in North Carolina
http://www.reverbnation.com/jakelegnc

And, to demonstrate the international fame of Jake's reputation, there is the Greek Rock Band named "Jake Leg".  http://www.unsigned.com/jakeleg

And even though we all know there is but one Jake Legg, these other bands bearing a similar name may be bad for business.

So - Watch for Jake and the Boys out under a whole new name....

Country Dick Davenport

The man, the legend, the T-ville flash, rockin' country blues artist Country Dick Davenport has lent his copious talents to Jake Legg's Rock and Roll Review.

Whether thumping out a bass line or whailing on the harp, CCD mystifies and amazes young and old alike.  As his own self serving promotional material blasts at a 200 decible scream - Country Dick is the idol of American Youth, a man who causes small children to cry and pretty women to swoon.

And, now - He's part of the Jake Legg Show

Internet Exclusive - Jake and band selecting new material

Exclusive News Flash..

In an interview with a local music critic, soon to be Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Jake Legg, announced the serach for new material.

In Jake's own words....

"I remember when RnR was fun - none of those fancy 12 chord songs and no 3rd and 4th chorus endings. It was wild and crazy and fun.

Chuck Berry built a whole carreer on 3 chord songs, so did Jimmy Rodgers. And so are we..."

Jake Legg Returns

Jake Legg, legendary leader of the Can't Hardly Playboys, returns to the world of Rock'n Roll Music with a whole new show. We caught up with Jake out on the road and learned the new project will be called -- Jake Legg's Rock'n Revival Show.

"We're featuring some of our old friends and calling on a some new talent to add a cosmic country blues feeling to the act. I think our old fans will like the outcome and the new roots-rocking feel will appeal to many new folks."

We took time to ask Jake about the rumors of rehab time. Here's the response. "Yeah, life in the fast lane can be kind of tough on certain band members. We rocker types know what it's like to loose friends along the way. Heck, just imagine our good friend Keith Moon and Muddy's little brother. You can never tell how folks will react."

Stay tuned - Jake is on the make again....
